Broccoli sprouts, just like broccoli itself and other Cruciferous vegetables contain sulforaphane, that exhibits anticancer properties and in some cases, prevents the development of cancer cells. Important thing is that broccoli sprouts contain up to 20 times more sulforaphane than the adult plants. Consumption of 50g sprouts provides the body as much sulforaphane, as consumption of 1kg broccoli.

Broccoli sprouts taste a little bit spicy. Therefore, they are usually consumed with sandwiches, but also they are mixed with lettuce and nappa cabbage.

Consumption of broccoli sprouts by people suffering from cancer should always be discussed with the attending physician.
